Riga has numerous ways of enticing visitors through its rich history, architecture, spacious gardens and parks, museums, art galleries, world-class opera…and daily treats like a walk in the enormous and colorful central market or a visit to a cozy café, club or pub…
Main places of interest: in Old Riga to see the Dome Cathedral, the Church of St. Peter, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, the architectural ensemble Three Brothers, St. Jacob’s Church, the Parliament House, the Old Riga Castle. Other sights are city Canal parks, the Art Nouveau buildings of the beginning of the 20th century, and the Opera House.

Cycling from Riga to Jurmala, the largest seaside and spa resort in the Baltics. The town is known for its unique natural resources such as its curative mineral waters, medicinal mud, pine forests and sand dunes. The town’s architecture is represented by many styles including unique wooden architecture (late 19th – early 20th cent.), classicism, Art Nouveau and national romanticism.
Explore the town of Jurmala by bike to see the architecture, later head out to the beach and cycle on the harder sand close to the sea shore.
In the evening take a local train back to Riga.

Departure by public bus to Klaipeda (no transfer).
Arrival to Klaipeda.
Take bikes and a ferry to Curonian Spit (~20 min).
Cycling through the Curonian Spit national park (UNESCO list of World Intangible heritage Lists) on asphalt bike path and forest trail. Admire amazing views to sand dunes with the sparse vegetation, seashore forest with hundred year-old trees and hill pine trees planted by people, white sand beaches, fishing villages with unique culture and architecture – these are the accents making the Curonian Spit an attractive holiday destination.
Finish in fishing village of Juodkrante, one of the oldest settlements on the Curonian Spit, with its Amber Bay, sculpture park and famous Hill of Witches – an open-air museum of woodcarvings. Enter the world of witches, demons and other characters based on Curonian legends and folk tales.
Overnight in Juodkrante.
Continue cycling to Nida through the Curonian Spit national park.
Sights: a colony of grey herons and cormorants; leave bikes behind and walk for 15 min on a wooden path to the Dead Dunes where you can see a panoramic view of both the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon.
Arrival to Nida. Explore Nida by bike: it is the biggest resort in the Curonian Spit with its cozy, colorful cottages located near the high white dunes that help to make it famous. The population of the village is approximately 1650, but in summer it raises to several thousands. Visit amber gallery, Thomas Mann house, the highest dune Parnidzio to see breathtaking views.
Overnight in Nida.
Take a boat from Nida to the mainland (~ 2 h). The Lagoon is over 20 km wide, which makes seeing the opposite shore with a naked eye difficult.
Reach the mainland close to the Minija river and begin ride through Lithuania Minor towards Vente Cape peninsula (~17 km), situated in the eastern side of Curonian Lagoon. More than 50 thousand visitors come each year there in order to get acquainted with one of the most important spot of birds migration in the world. Visit Ventes Cape Ornithological Station and make photos of a romantic sight – a lighthouse of the 19th century.
Cycling back to Kintai village (~10 km).
Transfer to the bus station in Klaipeda. Departure by public bus to Riga.
