Feel the freedom in this splendid county where outdoor experiences are unlimited. You are always close to nature and there are plenty of cycling trails. Short, long, simple or more advanced. One of our favorite ones is Klarälvsbanan –a 90 km cycling delight near Karlstad by the Sweden’s largest lake Vänern where 800 000 people get their drinking water from. This route takes in forest, open countryside and beautiful historical villages, hamlets and towns. Bring some picnic and rest your legs by one of the pretty stops. If you are up for a longer break from all the cycling then Vänern has bare rocks, large sandy beaches and shallow bays that are perfect for a warm summer day.

We can also recommend visiting Arvika where the nature is absolutely gorgeous and the culture is really rich. It’s a paradise for music, arts and craft lovers during summer time, and a number of concerts and exhibitionsare happening then too. Feel the calmness within the nature reserve of Glaskogen near Arvika and go on a hike to observe and experience a magnificent landscape with many lakes and nature spots, also a perfect place to have fun in and on the water.
